How You Can Start An Online Business for $0

You don't need a small loan of a million dollars to start a business. Get yours up and running today with no money at all.

In 2025 and beyond, the barriers to entry for starting your own online business continue to fall, making it more accessible for ordinary people to work for themselves and live a more fulfilling life.

The opportunities today weren’t around a few decades ago, which is why you’ve got to take advantage.

Here is a short rundown of how you can start a small online business for $0 in 2024 and beyond.

Traffic

The first thing you’re going to need if you want to make sales online, is traffic.

But, you’re starting with $0.

How are you going to acquire traffic with no money?

Simple. Social media.

Choose a form of content:

  • Short form video.

  • Short form written.

  • Long form video.

  • Long form written.

Choose a platform, which usually coincides with content form:

  • SFV — Instagram/TikTok/YouTube

  • SFW — Twitter/LinkedIn

  • LFV — YouTube/Twitter

  • LFW — Twitter/Medium

And start making some content in the niche that you want to operate in.

This could be:

  • Finance

  • Fitness

  • Sports

  • Food

Anything that you have an interest in, or have a lot of knowledge about.

Make sure your content is valuable, because the aim here is to turn viewers into followers, and then followers into customers.

Don’t clickbait. Don’t mislead. Don’t ruin your reputation for some clicks.

Remember, you’re building a business here.

Landing Page

The next part of our 3-step program is creating what’s known as a landing page.

You want to use your landing page to connect your traffic, with your product or service.

This could be:

  • A website.

  • A LinkTree.

  • A link straight to a product page (e.g. Gumroad)

Take a look at any big Twitter account in your niche, and the chances of them having a link like any of the 3 I’ve just mentioned, are very high.

Make sure you’re positioned so that your audience, and potential new followers/customers, know what you’re selling.

Don’t be afraid to sell, and market your stuff.

Some people won’t like it, but most people will, if you’re able to solve a problem that they have, and ultimately, want solving.

Product/Service

  • Niche? Check.

  • Traffic? Check.

  • Landing Page? Check.

All that’s left? What you’re going to be selling.

This is the area where I have the least impact, because only you know your area of expertise, and where you can go about solving problems that people or businesses are willing to pay to be solved.

It’s important to understand that your product/service is your business, and the quality of what you’re selling determines the success of your business.

You shouldn’t rush your offer, but it’s a good idea to build your traffic whilst building your offer.

Why?

So you can gain knowledge on what your audience wants.

  • What problems do they have.

  • What services do they want.

  • What are they willing to pay for.

You can use your audience building to mould your product/service around your followers.

It could be:

  • An eBook/Digital Product.

  • A coaching service.

  • An agency.

  • A paid online community.

The opportunities are endless.
